Sample day: routine and timings to be confirmed by the school
Morning
Circle time
Everyone sits together for a song, the day’s weather, a rhyme or a short story. Children practise listening, taking turns and speaking up.
2 of 7
Mid-morning
Play and build
Blocks, puzzles and shapes. Through play, children learn to count, compare, stack, share and try again when the tower falls.
3 of 7
Activity time
Messy hands
Paint, clay, crayons and paper. Art builds the small hand muscles children will later use for holding a pencil.
4 of 7
Break
Snack together
Children wash hands and eat together, learning to open a tiffin, wait their turn and tidy up afterwards.
5 of 7
Outdoor play
Outside in the fresh air
Running, climbing, digging and pouring. Outdoor play builds strong bodies and gives children a chance to make friends.
6 of 7
Home time
Story, then home
The day ends calmly with a story or a picture book, before children are handed over safely to their parents.
